I loved this book!  I love these small town based novels!  Susan Elizabeth Phillips takes you to Runaway Mountain and that’s exactly what the lead female character. Tess Hartsong wants to do – Runaway.  I certainly could imagine feeling the same way.  I am nothing like Tess, but she has so many characteristics I can admire. Ian North was running away too, and their clash is to be expected.

Tess is strong willed and doesn’t back down from a challenge, and despite her inner pain, she still helps so many others.  She’s a midwife, and despite not trying to practice her skill, rises to the need of her vocation in this small town.

Ian is a guarded artist, who ran to the mountain for peace and rest for himself and Bianca.  Their paths cross with Tess when Ian literally marches in to confront Tess. From this moment, their lives become increasingly intertwined.

Dance Away with Me is about friendship and love and about doing what you think is right even if its not the popular opinion.  It shows how people can change gradually and yet sometimes those changes can seem so sudden to others.  Things aren’t always as they seem in the beginning.  This book grabbed my heart strings and made me laugh and cry.

I highly recommend this title.  I listened to this book in Audiobook format and Nicole Poole did a great job narrating.  She captures both Tess’s and Ian’s headstrong attitudes perfectly.  You need to read or listen to this one!  Check it out from your local library or purchase it for yourself.
